The BP Accounting function is responsible for the delivery of timely and accurate financial information for Business Partner decision making. Business partners include 4 market facing divisions, supported by 39 BP Accounting staff. 


A key requirement of the function includes producing accounting data ‘right first time’ with minimal intervention between initial submission and final reporting to Group. Head of Production – Broadband World Series

Responsibilities Overview

The Head of Production will manage the content side of the business and produce the flagship Broadband World Forum agenda & the series’ conference programmes; liaising with analysts, external clients and the industry to ensure the highest quality agendas are produced with expert speakers from this sector.  In addition, you will be responsible for seeking out and introducing the latest agenda innovations to drive value and growth – not only in the conference but also on the show-floor.  The role affords an opportunity to develop your own profile as a thought leader within this sector, positioning you as a key figure within the industry.

 

 

In addition to producing events of the very highest quality and profitability possible, you must also be:

  • A talent who can create new, interactive features that add considerable value to the conferences and exhibition show-floor activities
  • Able to successfully commercialise the event – delight sponsors and maximise sponsorship sales and attendance
  • A strong leader of the research function, capable of managing a team of producers and overseeing the development of content across the portfolio.
  • Authoritative and have sufficient gravitas to inspire your market, speakers, sponsors and audience

 

 

You will be expected to personally drive the events within the portfolio and have experience of working with a team of sales, VIP relations, marketing and operations staff on the delivery of each event.

 

We would expect that candidates will have already excelled in the role of Conference Production and are now ready to take on a new challenge of greater autonomy, management and accountability; developing your production skills and career in running Large Scale Events.


Required Competencies:

 

Experienced Producer (min 3-4 years producing large-scale events at senior level preferred)

  • Main proficiency should be in event production – specifically, building strong, monetizable conference programmes and securing the most senior and engaging speakers.
  • Demonstrated experience handling complex briefs and ability to respond with a commercially attractive agenda
  • Research skills using a number of information sources
  • Can develop event propositions and work closely with the sales team to maximise revenues.
  • Ability to work to deadlines
  • Comfortable assuming a role of industry expert, supporting the wider team with understanding of the industry and our events role within it
  • Experience managing projects and the production function
  • Should display resilience and adaptability whilst working under pressure

  • Can deliver against event deadlines on multiple projects (often running concurrently)
  • Time management with an ability to multi-task
  • Ability to manage heavy workloads, prioritise effectively and draw on resources available to complete tasks at hand.
