Dr. John Polich Joins Informa Research Services

Informa Research Services, Inc., announced today that John Polich, Ph.D., a veteran marketing executive, has joined the company as senior vice president and head of its Seattle office.

Polich, a former New York Times executive, has run national syndicated and custom research companies in the U.S. and directed research in Russia, Japan, and other countries. He comes to Informa from Roy Morgan International, where he led its U.S. operation.

Polich was educated at Stanford and Arizona State. He has taught at Fordham University, The New School, Golden Gate University, Franklin College Switzerland, and Walden University.

In the 70’s Polich was pollster for the Detroit Free Press and media researcher for Market Opinion Research. As CEO of Simmons-Scarborough in the 1980’s Polich created the first profitable newspaper research across 60 American markets. Later he was VP of CMGI’s Engage and of Greenfield Online.

His articles and commentary have appeared in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Advertising Age, Adweek, Journalism Quarterly, Newspaper Research Journal, and elsewhere. He served 10 years as a governor of the Overseas Press Club and is a member of the White House News Photographers Association and the New York Friars Club.
