Boosting Penetration for Growing Populations on Broadband Latin America agenda

With an increasingly wealthy and tech-savvy public who are demanding higher speeds and a much more reliable broadband service, Latin American broadband networks are experiencing historic levels of investment, with FTTH penetration rates in Brazil, Uruguay, Mexico, Colombia and Chile increasing alongside the pioneering LTE network deployments across the region.

With a focus on identifying the strategies and technologies being used by service providers to increase broadband penetration throughout the region, the inaugural Broadband Latin America event taking place from 2 – 3 July at The Grand Hyatt Hotel, São Paulo, Brazil, will see leading CEO level contributions from Latin American service providers address how they will utilise fixed and wireless technologies to meet ambitious broadband targets.

In his latest Broadband Latin America interview, Ricardo Sanfelice, Executive Director, Marketing and Products at GvT states that “Large companies, such as GVT, have to invest in fibre to achieve a greater geographical footprint.” Ricardo will be speaking on this topic alongside leading regional broadband executive Flavio Lang, CMO at TIM Fiber Brasil. Other speakers invited to present on similar topics include Gonzalo Vergara, Manager Network Engineering Mobile Access at Movistar Chile and Carlos Andrenacci, Fixed Manager at Telecom Argentina, who will all identify the latest innovations to increase fixed broadband penetration.

Broadband Latin America will also focus on wireless broadband featuring Cid Kuahara, IP Network Director and National Transportation at Telefonica Brasil, Yehuda Elmaliach, CTO & Co-Founder of Mobixell and Raúl Ernesto Amaya Montejo, Vice President of Strategy at Avantel Colombia identify the latest strategies to monetize mobile broadband and leverage emerging wireless broadband opportunities.

Broadband Latin America is taking place alongside TV Connect Latin America, VSAT Latin America and Critical Communications Latin America which together will attract the entire telecoms ecosystem to Brazil under one roof with a co-located exhibition featuring the region’s leading products and services to assist with these national rollouts.
