Informa Telecoms & Media Announces Official Shortlist for AfricaCom 2011

Informa Telecoms & Media are proud to announce for the fourth year running, the shortlist of leading service providers and vendors in with a chance of winning a prestigious award at Africa’s unique and respected AfricaCom Awards. The ceremony and announcement of this year’s winners will be coincide with the continent’s leading conference and exhibition, AfricaCom, taking place in Cape Town next month. 

AfricaCom AwardsLast year’s list of winners included important players in Africa like France Telecom Orange Group, MTN South Africa and Comviva. This year Tigo, Nokia Siemens Networks, Safaricom, Ericsson, Huawei and Etisalat have joined the competition to fight it out for an African telecoms, media & ICT ‘Oscar’.

A recap of the awards to be won; Best Network Improvement, Best New Service, Best Cost Efficiency Initiative for Africa, Rural Telecoms Award, Best Backhaul Solution for Africa, Customer Service Excellence Award, Best Marketing Campaign, Satellite Service Provider of the Year, Best ICT Solution Provider for Enterprise Markets in Africa, Best Pan African Initiative, Changing Lives Award. Plus, Orange will announce the winner of their very own Orange African Social Venture Prize for 2011 – independently run and judged by Orange.

Furthermore, the AfricaCom Awards have a stunning new venue for 2011, the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town, so promises to be better than ever. Congratulations to the shortlisted entrants and good luck on the night!
