PALM EXPO 2011 is resounding success

The 20th edition of PALM EXPO 2011, featuring INSTALL China 2011 was officially opened on 26th May 2011 amidst a strong crowd consisting thousands of specially invited local and international industry players.

Mr. Peter Rigby, Chief Executive of the Informa Group, acknowledged and thanked all sponsors and exhibitors in his opening address, as well as the Ministry of Culture and co-organisers, the China Entertainment Technology Association (CETA) and the China Technology Market Management & Promotion Centre for their invaluable support.

The VIP contingent, which included Mr. Ai Qingcun, Former Vice Minister, Ministry of Culture, P.R. China and Honorary President, CETA; Mr. Zhu Xincun, President, CETA; Mr. Lao Wei Jie, Vice President, CETA; Mr. Derek Map, Chairman, Informa Group; Mr. Peter Rigby, Chief Executive of the Informa Group, Mr. John Hassett, Chief Operating Officer, Informa Exhibitions Asia and Ms. Rosalind Ng, Managing Director (Asia), IIR Exhibitions Pte Ltd, who were led on a tour of the halls by Ms. Juri Tan, Exhibitions Director, IIR Exhibitions and other officials from CETA.

PALM EXPO was held at the China International Exhibition Centre (CIEC) from 26-29 May and this year the event was by far the largest of its kind occupying a total area exceeding 85,000 sqm with over 1700 exhibitors and represented by more than 35 countries and regions.
On display were the latest technologies ranging from Audio Equipment & Systems, Architectural Lightings, Control Systems, DJ Products, Indoor and Outdoor LED Signages, LCD Panels / LED Displays, Professional Lighting Equipment & Systems, projection Screens, Stage / Touring Equipment & Trussing, Video Conferencing Equipment & Systems.

This major event was filled with a whole host of activities. The Technology Summit on 25th May and the exhibitor seminars received strong interest and attracted a massive crowd, while the Scratch & Win lucky draw attracted an eager crowd. Lucky visitors walked away with Apple iPads, C-Mark digital amplifiers, Pioneer headphones, Sennheiser earphones, Shure products, Vestax Handytrax portable turntable and a hotel stay at the Sheraton Beijing.

PALM EXPO was located at two venues to meet the demand of the expansion with the Music segment located in the China National Agricultural Exhibition Centre, which is ten minutes away from this venue. The four-day exhibition surpassed previous year’s records, attracting over 200,000 quality visitors and is organised by IIR Exhibitions Pte in Singapore.
