Digital Support Manager

Job Purpose:

To support marketing users on the effective use of marketing platforms to achieve business objectives:

Job Accountabilities:
  • Provide onsite and remote support to business users in response to ‘how to’ queries
  • Ensure (new and existing) marketing users are effectively trained and confident in using marketing applications
  • Act in a pro-active manner as the link between marketing users and GE (Digital, Data and IT) support teams in relation to marketing applications
Main Duties & Responsibilities:

Business Support

  • Act as the first point of contact for ‘how do I’ enquiries from GE offices 
  • Deliver new starter training for all marketing applications 
  • Ensure marketing users are confident in the use of marketing applications including the delivery of refresher training 
  • Proactively monitor incidents and requests to, in conjunction with the Digital Marketing Director and Digital Director, improve service levels, work flows and training materials 
  • Assist business users in their communication with Digital, Data and IT support teams and escalate issues as appropriate 
  • In conjunction with the Divisional Marketing Director, identify and communicate best practice in terms of delivering optimised web experiences, marketing automation campaigns and data-driven decision making

Communication

  • Create and maintain effective communication channels with business users
  • Establish communication channels with GE’s global (Digital, Data and IT) support teams
  • Proactively identify critical business issues in advance and escalate to the appropriate department head
  • Represent the business (Voice of the Customer) in GE Support Team calls / meetings 

Tactical Support

  • Provide level 1 support to business users for the above named Adobe and Oracle products
  • Provide level 1 support on data related inquiries
  • Escalate major incidents to appropriate parties in line with agreed processes and procedures
  • Effectively cascade Divisional strategy and initiatives in relation to marketing applications and process to business users
  • Perform any other duties commensurate with the grade and level of responsibility
Background Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

Minimum Education Level
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant business / technology discipline

Essential

  • Exceptional communication skills demonstrating an ability to effectively communicate with both business teams and technical teams
  • Experience of email design and basic skills in HTML and CSS
  • Previous experience of working with web CMS platforms or marketing automation or analytics applications
  • Previous experience of working in a marketing function or directly with marketing users
  • Demonstrate analytical, logical thinking capability
  • Ability to operate in a high paced demanding environment
  • Ability to prioritize and handle incoming inquiries effectively

Desirable

  • Previous experience of Eloqua, Salesforce, Adobe Analytics, Adobe Experience Manager

Overview:     

Primary objective is to assist the Marketing team in creating and implementing successful and innovative marketing, advertising and public relations campaigns focused on building increasingly successful events. Emphasis will be placed on the ability to produce and distribute key components of the marketing plan, website maintenance and implementation of social media strategies.

Marketing Coordinator Responsibilities:

Assist Marketing team in the execution of strategic and innovative marketing plans in a timely and cost efficient manner

Monitor and maintain show websites, ensuring they are timely and accurate

Assist with coordination and growth of social networking aspects of marketing plans including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and blog

The Boston Biotechnology Conferences, a series of exclusive networking forums for leaders in the biopharma space, is looking for a Senior Program Manager to design and execute several conferences per year. 

The ideal candidate is creative and hardworking, with extremely strong interpersonal, writing, analytic and research skills. The program manager should be extremely familiar with the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries, with special knowledge of financing, deal-making and R&D trends. The candidate should be well versed, and/or able to rapidly learn about the latest drug development trends in a number of therapeutic areas such as oncology, neuroscience, infectious diseases and rare disorders. 

The position primarily involves developing sophisticated and timely agendas and populating the agendas with an excellent mix of panelists. The program manager will work on multiple conferences simultaneously and mentor team members, so strong project management skills while maintaining a high attention to detail on a tight deadline is a necessity.

The program manager interacts very closely with attendees in a number of ways. These include soliciting feedback for topics to be covered at the next conference, reaching out to past attendees, or to new people, with invitations to participate on a panel, or interacting via email and phone during panel preparation conference calls prior to each conference. Given that our participants are mostly C-level executives, our program manager should have strong relationship development skills and feel comfortable interacting with people in the C-suite.

In addition to directly managing multiple conferences, the senior program manager will also mentor and support additional team members who will develop their own meetings.

The position is full-time and based out of our Boston office, and reports to the portfolio director. The ideal candidate is a compelling and clear writer, has a science degree, has 3 – 5 years’ experience as a conference producer and/or journalist in the life sciences space, and is eager to work in a setting where everybody pitches in and a small team gets a lot done. Familiarity with Salesforce is a big plus.
