Informa acquires materials handling business to become key player in logistics sector
IIR Exhibitions, part of Informa PLC, the world’s largest organiser of exhibitions, conferences and training events, has today announced the acquisition of Quartz Publishing & Exhibitions from owners Keith Harris and Paul Michael.
The acquisition includes IMHX, one of the world’s leading materials handling and logistics exhibitions, held every three years and attracting more than 350 exhibitors and tens of thousands of industry professionals. IMHX is co-owned by the British Industrial Truck Association and is firmly established in the global calendar, with the next event taking place at the NEC in Birmingham in March 2013.
The Quartz Publishing & Exhibitions portfolio will enhance Informa’s position in the Logistics & Supply Chain sector by joining existing Informa products including the TOC Container Supply Chain global series, Intermodal Europe exhibition, RORO Conference and Exhibition and Lloyd’s List Containerisation International, Cargo Systems and IFW publications.
