Informa PLC selected for inclusion in the Ethibel Excellence Investment register
Ethibel inclusion signals socially responsible investment, alongside FTSE4Good accreditation
Informa PLC has been selected for inclusion in the European Ethibel Excellence Investment register. Forum ETHIBEL reviews companies worldwide on their economic, social and environmental performance.
Keith Brownlie, Informa’s global HR and CR Director, comments, “Ethibel produces lists of companies that pass criteria to show excellence or pioneering patterns. It’s another string to our bow and shows investors, employees, customers and suppliers internationally that our corporate responsibility (CR) reputation is growing and strengthening. It’s a great recognition for the CR work we practice, where we are increasingly aiming for it to become a central part of our everyday, global business activities”.
During 2009 Informa took its UK centric CR programme and launched it globally – coincidentally at a time when businesses generally were facing tough economic times. More and more Informa employees are now embracing CR, particularly environmental and community issues. The programme continues and CR leaders have recently been appointed in every business division.
Following an evaluation by the ‘Register Committee’ (an independent advisory panel of senior experts), the Board of Directors of Forum ETHIBEL has included Informa in the Ethibel EXCELLENCE Investment Register. This decision took effect as of 06/07/2010. Forum ETHIBEL provides specific instruments and labels to support investors in their search for SRI products. The Investment Registers form the basis for the European Collective Quality label ‘Ethibel Excellence’ which is awarded to investment funds and financial products.
In 2005, Informa was accredited with FTSE4Good, the accolade from the FTSE Group that shows a company embraces CR practices successfully.
