Informa opts for Daptiv's SaaS-Based PPM Software
Daptiv, a provider of project portfolio management software, has announced that Informa has selected Daptiv PPM to manage resources and better execute on project portfolio management.
Informa said its Project Management Office (PMO) oversees all IT projects for the company, at both the group and business levels. Previously, the organisation relied on several disparate systems to track projects, with no centralised place to store and access project information. Without a software tool to provide visibility into the interdependencies associated with a project, it was difficult to assess why and where projects were falling behind, the company noted.
Informa added it has created several custom applications using Daptiv's Dynamic Applications, including a project scorecard and applications that provide benefit/cost analysis. These allow Informa to determine a project's fit in supporting the overall business by identifying costs, potential risks, resource issues and more before a decision is made to green light a project.
Additionally, Informa said it uses Daptiv PPM to view the resource requirements of potential projects and compare that against current works in progress.
"We've definitely seen an uptick in the percent of projects perceived as being successful and more strategically aligned with the business," said Damon Bell, PMO Director, Informa. "Daptiv gave us a structured approach to project and portfolio management, allowing us to better formulate strategy, monitor investments and manage the operational and financial aspects of IT." Daptiv's on-demand model was a key factor in its selection, Informa said. When Daptiv PPM was deployed at Informa more than two years ago, it was one of the first SaaS offerings on the market.
"I was surprised at the speed to market with Daptiv," said Bell. "We saw benefits straight away." Maintenance and upgrades are completed automatically, saving Informa both time and money.
