Informa’s 2012 CR report published
Informa PLC’s 2012 CR report is published today, following a strong year of delivering on and further developing the Group’s CR strategy, Louder than Words.
As a global knowledge provider, Informa’s key impact on society is through our content. We have made significant steps in the past year to develop this as the central focus of our CR programme. “Each of our divisions has its own specialisms and audiences, but we share a fundamental commitment to ensure that the knowledge we provide is always professionally produced, rigorously researched and properly disseminated”, underlines Peter Rigby, Informa’s CEO. In 2012, we engaged further with internal stakeholders around the Group on the topics of content integrity, accessibility and its impact on society, as well as starting to develop KPIs to measure performance and progress.
Alongside this, we continued to deliver on the wider priorities that we share with other sectors: bringing down our environmental footprint, building meaningful community partnerships and providing a great place to work. We produced carbon neutral and zero waste events, provided training places to charity partners on our public courses and were ranked 5th in the “large company category” of Britain’s Top Employers, to name a few examples.
Emma Blaney, Informa’s HR and CR Director adds, “Our approach to sustainability is marked by an increasing sense of confidence, as we have worked hard to define the priorities that are uniquely relevant to us and our business objectives. There are also areas still to be improved upon. A key objective of mine is around internal engagement with sustainability. Our employees have shown a keen interest in getting involved in our CR initiatives; in 2013 we hope to further engage with them strategically in the conversation of where we want to be”.
