Informa’s Magnificent Seven gather in Switzerland
Seven of Informa’s finest young employees have earned the honour of a lifetime. They were selected to represent Informa at One Young World, the premier global forum for young people of leadership calibre. Honoured and excited, the magnificent seven were from IIR and IBI. They were Katherine Rae, Danya Burakoff, Jill Kamp, Jonathan Simpkins, Lindsay Tis, Stacy Levyn and Anna Simmonds. What’s more, Anna was honoured with being a flag bearer at the opening ceremony.
Emma Blaney, Group HR and CR Director said, “The event’s purpose is both admirable and phenomenal. It connects and brings together the youngest and brightest people around the world to ensure their concerns, opinions and solutions are heard and taken into account by those in power, whether in government, business or any other sector. It is a singular and special honour.
“Delegates represent their country and company on the world stage and afterwards have the responsibility to speak in their country, their workplace, place of learning and other public spheres.”
Last year, 823 delegates represented 114 countries. Leading them were counsellors for the young, including Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Bob Geldof, Kofi Annan and Muhammad Yunus; three of whom hold 3 Nobel Peace Prizes.
Anna Simmonds, head of legal content at CPDcast, had the extra honour of being the flag bearer for the UK at the opening ceremony which involves being photographed with Archbishop Desmond Tutu and Bob Geldof.
The event took place 1-4 September, this year in Zurich, Switzerland. Helped by its proximity to Informa’s Swiss head office, the seven also met with Peter Rigby (CEO), Adam Walker (Finance Director) and Emma Blaney (Group HR and CR Director) for an informal lunch.
