Only Watch charity auction raises €5 million
Held every two years since 2005 during Informa’s Monaco Yacht Show, Only Watch raised €5,066,000 for research into Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
The fifth Only Watch event offered 33 unique watches designed by some of world’s most prestigious watch makers for auction, along with a collection of 14 vintage magnum champagne bottles. The auction took place on September 28th at Hotel Hermitage Monte Carlo, hosted by Luc Pettavino, President of the Association Monégasque contre les Myopathies, in the presence of HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco. More than 300 people were in attendance, with numerous bidders joining online and by phone.
The proceeds from the sale will be donated to Association Monégasque contre les Myopathies to help financing research for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a degenerative neuromuscular disease affecting 1 in 3,500 boys, or 250,000 children, adolescents, and young adults around the world.
