Singapore scores at bunker show SIBCON
With a record-breaking 1600 participants this year, SIBCON has grown phenomenally from a modest 400 delegates 12 years ago, to now be the largest international marine fuels event. Informa’s Asian conference business arm, IBC, has been producing and managing the event over this period. This year’s event saw not only 25% more conference participants but an exhibition that had grown 53% larger than the last event in 2010 as well. The event attracted ship owners, oil majors, independent bunker suppliers and traders from over 50 countries, with support from key industry players such as ExxonMobil, BP, Shell, Maersk Line, MISC Berhad and many others.
SIBCON is the initiative of the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore, the Government agency tasked with regulating the bunkering sector, and IBC Asia has been managing the event for the Singapore Government since 2000.
